Dear all

Several folks asked me about Webelos scouts attending this weekend's camping event, Glacial Glutes. Here's the skinny on it:

Both 1st- and 2nd-year Webelos can attend. They should arrive after 12:30 on Saturday. They must be accompanied by a parent or registered scout leader. The District considers them as guests of the sponsoring troop, in this case Troop 65 of Baldwin, so you should check in with me, John Richards, the Scoutmaster. Webelos can participate in tomahawk throwing, and I think spear throwing as well. Firestarting will also be a possibility, if time permits. 

Webelos can also visit and participate in the trading area and the Trappers' crafts area. If they have any old trinkets, toys, craft items, game cards, or other items, they should bring them to trade. Look for me in the crafts area. I'll be tanning a deer hide using the Sioux brain-tanning method. 

The events end at 4:00 PM. The forecast is for cloudy skies with a 10% chance of precip. Temperatures in the afternoon should reach the low 40s. Disappointingly warm, I am sure.
