Hello All,

At Thursday night's leader meeting we talked about the Bromelsick
Christmas Party with the Chemistry Magic Show on December 6 and the possibility it
might be very crowded. Then on Friday I saw the following which might be
something fun for families to do in order to get their chemistry fix:

Carnival of Chemistry set for Sunday at KU

Kansas University will be host to its 14th annual Carnival of Chemistry
from 1 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday in Malott Hall. The event is designed for
elementary school children but is open and free to the public. Participants can
make slime, visit a popcorn room, hear explosions, operate solar panels and
more. A Chemistry in Sports exhibit will return, examining the chemistry of
athletic equipment like shock absorbing sneakers and high tech Olympic
swimsuits.

The carnival is sponsored by the Wakarusa Valley Local Section of the
American Chemical Society, the KU Chem Club, the KU Society of Physics Students
and the KU Department of Chemistry.

David
