[scouts] Fort Riley Campout

Dear Parents:

20 youth and 7 adults will be headed to Fort Riley for the Fort Riley Boy Scout Extravaganza. Saturday is filled with events ranging from Civil War cavalry reenactors and other different displays to hi-tech simulators that the boys get to operate (flight simulators, tank simulators, M-16 trainers, etc.). This is one of the troop's favorite campouts for both the boys and the "gray hairs," as they call us. 

The roster is as follows:

Leaving from the cabin between 4:00 and 4:30.
Please be at the cabin by 3:45.

I will be at the cabin tomorrow night (Thursday)so the boys can drop off their gear. This way, they won't have to pack and carry their stuff over after school on Friday. If at all possible, please bring your scout and his gear to the cabin. I will have the permission slips there for you to sign. If you can't make it then, call me to make arrangements. My cell phone is below.

The Troop will return to the cabin at about 2:00 on Saturday. They will need a sack dinner for Friday night, money for lunch or a sack lunch on Saturday, and money for lunch on Sunday. The boys are responsible for cooking Saturday breakfast and supper, and Sunday breakfast. Each boy needs to bring $10.00 to pay the parent who bought the patrol's food for these three meals. I have also attached a word document, which contains the recommended list of items each boy needs to bring on a late spring or early fall campout. 

This weekend's forecast is about as good as it gets. Highs in the 80s and lows in the low 60s.
