Dear all -

Trappers' is this weekend. An updated roster appears below. Here are some important reminders:

1. The forecast for this weekend is clear and beautiful. Highs in the upper 30's (possibly low 40s) and lows in the 20s. Believe it or not, the event consistently has its lower attendance the higher the temperature is.

2. If you're son has changed his mind and wants to go, it's not too late. I can still add him to the roster up until Wednesday at noon. Please let me know. 

2. At tonight's meeting we will be collecting the troop gear for the trip. If your son is going, it is very important that he attend the meeting.

3. You son can also bring some of the items they may be interested in trading to tonight's meeting. Trading is the main activity at Trappers, and anything from old Pokémon and Magic cards, to pocket knives, animal parts, marbles, buttons, old plastic models, belly button lint, and a lot more is traded. What can NOT be traded are sheath knives, firearms, fireworks, ammunition, younger siblings, etc. (I think you get the idea). Part of tonight's meeting will be devoted to going over what makes a good trade (Yes, in addition to responsible citizenship and leadership, Troop 65 is also a consumer protection group.) 

4. Gear Check. On Thursday night between 7:00 and 8:00 PM, please bring your son and his gear to the cabin. Rick Deitz will be taking both the troop and personal equipment to Trappers early Friday morning, so we must have everything at the cabin on Thursday night. We'll also have the permission slips for you to sign.

5. Several folks still need to let me know when their son is leaving (4:00 or 6:00) and to pay the fees($5.00 for registration and $10.00 for food). Don't make me send Sarge around to collect. ;)

6. Your son will also need a sack dinner for Friday evening and some money ($7.00) for lunch on Sunday. 

7. We should be back at the cabin some time after 2:00 PM on Sunday.
