[scouts] Campout.

I'm confused about the dates of this campout. Ed's email said it was the weekend before Thanksgiving, which would be 11/20-11/22. Your email and other Facebook postings make it appear to be this coming weekend, 11/13-15. Austin signed up thinking it was the later dates - he cannot go this coming weekend. Can you please clarify?

Also, an earlier email that was said to attach this year's calendar never came through with the attachment. Could someone please send and attach the year's calendar so that we can get future campouts on our family calendar?

Thanks,
Nanette Kraus

Mighty Scouts, Scouters and Scout Parents

Just to follow Ed’s email, the Incompetence Campout focuses on preparation (BE PREPARED), trust, and self-reliance. Each boy is asked
to bring everything he needs for himself and one or two tent mates. Each tent of boys needs plan their meals (Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner; Sunday breakfast) (and pack the appropriate food and gear), to check the forecast to see what the
weather will be like (and bring the appropriate gear), and have the 10 essentials (ask them what these are). The boys can sleep in tents or in wilderness shelters made from branches, leaves, tarp, and rope (depending on what they prefer).

I should warn you that in the past, this campout has resulted in scouts running around in the woods with chokeberry face and chest paint,
spear shaking, and lots of yelling. But don’t worry too much; after two nights they’re ready for cell phones and computer games again.

There will be a gear check on Thursday night from 7:30 to 8:30 at the cabin, so please make sure that your scout has his equipment there
and ready to go. Because it’s getting dark so much earlier these days, it’s important that we have the gear ready to go Friday afternoon, when the boys arrive at the cabin. Departure times will be 4:30 for those scouts who are free after school; a second group
 will depart at 6:30.

Please let me know if you and/or your son will be attending by responding to this email.
