Dana,
I will be on the trash crew during all the slots we have listed.
Two other important bits of information:
1)The trash pickup money goes to the High Adventure Fund. The trip this year is Philmont and is very expensive compared to recent trips. The High Adventure fund has committed to paying $220 for transportation and meals in transit for all the scouts from Troop 65 that are attending + paying the $620 fee for 4 adult scouters. The total bill will be $6,880! If you plan to attend Philmont you need to sign up for a trash pickup slot and help us earn some of that money.
2)When your time slot starts you need to meet us in the alley to the east of the public library. We are unable to drive the streets as we have in past so we will not be meeting you at the food booth as in the past.
Hope Maple Leaf is as fun and exciting as ever.
And remember - when you are working on the trash crew "Business is Always Picking Up!"
Roger Byd

Subject: [scouts] Maple Leaf food booth/trash/parking
Hello everyone!
It is that time of the year again. MAPLE LEAF. Troop 65 is responsible for a Food Booth on Sat. 8-6 and Sunday 9-5, Trash Pick-up (Setup Friday night), Sat. 12-7 and Sun. 10-7, and Parking at the Scout Cabin, Sat 7am until full (noonish) as well as Parking at the IC, Sat. starting at 7:30 am & goes all day and Sunday am only starting at 7:30 am. We will need people Friday evening to help put out & set up signs, rope of the parking area around the scout cabin, set trash cans up round Baldwin and Set up the food booth.
These are all important things that need to be done, but we this doesn't all end at 5pm on Sunday night. We have Downtown Cleanup that has to be done as well. Speaking for someone who has done this, it would be REALLY nice if every scout and their family would show up & help with this. It would go a lot faster & we all might get home at an early time.
I know this is a crazy time for anyone who lives in Baldwin City. If you have children involved in other things in school or the community, they have a booth for you to help with as well. The Boyscout Troop seems to have decreased in size a little which means that everyone will need to sign up for more than one shift & more than one thing. I am truely amaized at the amount of work that these kids & leaders do for Maple Leaf. It is an important time for Baldwin City & I feel these scouts do a great job help things run smoothly.
Please e-mail me or call me & let me know when & where you would like to work.
Thank you,
Dana
