Hello all -

Several questions have come up, so I'm sending this out to everyone.

There is a gearcheck tonight from 7'8 PM at the cabin. Please bring your son's equipment and payment (if you haven't alreadydone so) tonight. It's is so much easier to depart on time, if we have the gear there tonight. I will also have the permission slips there.

Cost: The SAC program is $32.00 for youth is $32.00. Food for the trip is $8.00.

What your scout needs to bring: The usual equipment for a cold campout. Please make sure that he has a ground pad or air matrees to sleep on Friday night. The forcast for southeast Nebraska this weekend is for highs in the upper 40s, lows in the lower 30s, with little chance of precipitation. Please make sure that your son brings boots for hiking and warmth. Several boys came to the last campout in tennis shoes. Please make sure that he is protected against the elements.

In addition, each boy needs eat or bring food for Friday lunch, bring a sack meal for Friday dinner, and bring the items for preparing his own meal on Saturday evening. Every youth and leader is preparing and cooking this meal over a wood fire. A foil meal is one way to do this. Mark Shuck's earlier email has a document explaining this. Each boy only needs one meal (unless he's really hungry). Each boy should also bring money for a fast food lunch on the way back on Sunday.

At the Strategic Air Command head-quarters, souvenir items are available for purchase. There are also computerized flight simulaters that cost 7 or 8 dollars to run, so you could send some spending money with him as well.

On Friday, please bring your son to the cabin at noon.
